ADAC SimRacing Expo secured, new organizer appointed following Cowana bankruptcy

The future of the expo, which is run jointly by the now-defunct Cowana GmBH, was in turmoil after the marketing agency was reported insolvent by Games Wirtschaft and German bankruptcy notifications back in May.

Traxion.GG understands that several potential exhibitors were waiting for a solution before committing to the event, which is scheduled to take place on October 13-15, 2023.

It also follows allegations by sim racing teams of unpaid winnings related to competitions at last year’s event.

However, a newly formed company, South West Vision, is now taking on that debt and has announced it will pay out the prizes. Together with the ADAC, it will now also organize and carry out the SimRacing Expo.

“After Cowana GmbH filed for bankruptcy, South West Vision GmbH took over the organization of the SimRacing Expo,” says the statement dated July 4, 2023.

“In addition to the organization, the Essen-based company has also retrospectively taken over the payment of prize money for the competitions in 2022.”

“The demand for the exhibition space is enormous and numerous new exhibitors have already marked the fair in their calendars,” said Marc Hennerii, Managing Director of ADAC Reise und Event Mittelrhein GmbH.

So far, D-BOX, PXN, Asetek SimSports, Moza Racing, VRS and P1 Sim, among others, have been announced as participants in the event. There was also talk in March that there might be a dedicated “Content Creator” zone. In February it was said that they wanted to attract over 30,000 visitors.

Tickets are on sale now and Traxion.GG plans to attend the event to cover the latest in sim racing gear.
