Everything you need to know about Forza Horizon 5’s new anti-lag system

In the latest update for the 2021 release of Forza Horizon 5, alongside its second expansion with the Rally Adventure DLC, there are some new things for all players to enjoy and participate in.

One of the new features available to all players, regardless of whether they have the Rally Adventure expansion, is the addition of an anti-lag system that can be added to many of the cars in the title.

However, it is not available on every car, only those that can be supercharged with a turbo system. In addition, it is a separate part than the previous turbos that may be present in the cars before the additions.

Long story short, it won’t be on your cars to begin with. It is its own add-on. For cars that are turbocharged or have the ability to add a turbo, which is reportedly already over 630 cars in Forza Horizon 5, players can add this new anti-lag system.

To add an anti-lag system to your car, you must first go to the Cars menu on the pause screen, then go to the Garage tab.

Select the car you want to add the anti-lag turbocharger to and get in. Then click Upgrades and Tuning. The big section in the middle of the screen says Custom Upgrade – click on it and go to the Engine section. Find the turbo options, click to get there and then the part should appear.

Make sure you select the part that says it comes “with Anti-Lag”, otherwise you’ll just install the base turbo without it.

In the real world, it’s a system that rally cars use to prevent large turbos from going out of boost when changing gears, effectively preventing drivers from wasting valuable time in racing events.

Basically, those loud backfires and tailpipe flames are the byproducts.

It’s a nice feature and addition to the popular arcade-style open-world racing title. There are definitely more loud pops in my world when gaming, as well as neater exhaust flames to photograph.

Well, it’s not a requirement, but it will improve the starting and acceleration of any car you can install it on. For racing, it’s a great addition.

This new feature also coincides with another added feature in the game for this update, Launch Control, which unlike Anti-Lag can be turned on or off for all cars without any additional parts.
