To celebrate the Prancing Horse’s 75th anniversary, Giallo Modena’s special design adds a touch of yellow to the Ferrari F1 car and arrives in F1 22 later this month.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza and the 75th anniversary of the Modena-based company, the Ferrari Formula 1 team will add a touch of yellow to its livery for the Italian Grand Prix – and players will be able to do so within the F1 drive 22 game too.
The design includes the yellow color adoring the Ferrari logo titled Giallo Modena on the F1-75’s engine cover, alongside “F lunga” branding on the rear wing.
The fresh look will be used by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in the real world this coming weekend. In-game it will be added as a free addition for PC, PlayStation and Xbox for a month starting September 12th.
In addition to the car’s livery, drivers will wear yellow racing suits and helmets for the upcoming race weekend and these items will also be on display virtually alongside updated pit crew uniforms.
“We are thrilled to be joining Ferrari in this special moment and bringing this iconic new image they have developed to F1 22,” said Paul Jeal, F1 Senior Franchise Director at Codemasters.
“Our studio prides itself on creating authentic racing experiences and these touches underscore how tightly embedded the game is in the world of Formula 1.”
This follows a similar activation for last season’s F1 2021 game, which saw the addition of Red Bull Racing’s Honda tribute livery used at the Turkish Grand Prix for a limited time. A few months later, it reappeared in-game, this time permanently.
