Gran Turismo 7 Lap Time Challenge, September 15-29: Z Cars

Gran Turismo 7’s latest lap time challenge features the 2023 Nissan Z Performance on the full course layout of the Autodrome Lago Maggiore.

The “Gran Turismo 7 Lap Time Challenge” of this fortnight takes us to the fictional Italian racetrack of the Autodrome Lago Maggiore.

Players must master the circuit’s 3.6-mile full-course configuration with Nissan’s new-for-2023 Z Performance model. The Z is the successor to the company’s 370Z (also known as the Fairlady Z in Japan), which was produced between 2009 and 2020. The car has changed very little in that time, so a facelift was needed (a 2009 370Z was almost identical to a 2020 370Z apart from a few minor details).

The car was due to be delivered to global customers this summer but unfortunately won’t make it to Europe – including the UK – thanks to our strict vehicle emissions regulations. Most Z sales will therefore be concentrated in Japan, North America and Australia.

The Z features a three-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces around 400 horsepower. Combined with rear-wheel drive and a two-seater layout, the Z is a serious value-for-money sports car. Relationship. Also thanks to its powerful turbo engine, the Z will be every tuner’s dream.

GT7 Lap Time Challenge is a time trial mode where you compete against other players to set the fastest time on the leaderboard. There is one caveat, though: if you complete a lap within three percent of the fastest time, you’ll get 2,000,000 credits.

If you’re not fast enough for this, lapping within five percent will award you with 1,000,000 credits, while a time within 10 percent of the fastest results in a payout of 250,000 credits.

Autodrome Lago Maggiore is one of the busiest venues for GT7 online racing and will therefore be familiar to players. Its sweeping chicanes and slow 90-degree turns will test your patience, but give the Z the opportunity to stretch its legs and engage in sideways drifting action.

Beginning the week of April 25th, GT7 will allow players to rent the necessary vehicles for the daily races or the lap time challenge if they don’t own them. For GT7 newbies, Sport mode – where you’ll find the daily races and lap time challenge – is unlocked after completing the ninth Cafe menu.
