Gran Turismo Nations Cup Showdown Champion Drumont joins R8G Esports

Gran Turismo Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup Showdown winner Kylian Drumont has signed with crack sim racing team R8G Esports, it has been announced.

French Gran Turismo esports star Kylian Drumont has announced that he has joined Romain Grosjean’s R8G esports roster.

The 19-year-old joins the team after impressive performances at both the Gran Turismo Nations Cup Showdown and the Gran Turismo Showdown Manufacturers Cup last August.

Drumont teamed up with Daniel Solis to win the Manufacturers’ Cup for Subaru and a day later won the Nations Cup for France, with the LAN events taking place in Salzburg. His performances were all the more impressive given that it was his World Series debut.

The young Frenchman then capped a successful year with second place in the 2022 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup, beaten only by Gran Turismo legend – and SUPER GT GT300 class driver – Igor Fraga.

Despite being a Gran Turismo 7 specialist, it remains to be seen what sims and championships Drumont will take part in for R8G, but with a resume already stacked he’s sure to be found at the front of the pack in 2023.

How do you think Drumont will fare in his new environment? Let us know in the comments below.
