new realistic racing scenes unveiled | traction

With our hands-on preview of F1 Manager 2023, we had the chance to learn about some of the game’s lesser-known new features.

With Race Replay looking like a fun game changer and career mode additions like pit crew training and better scouting and recruiting mechanics seemingly adding an extra layer of polish to the series, we’ve spotted another small but effective tweak.

F1 Manager 2023 will have significantly improved in-game race track backgrounds. The track backgrounds in F1 Manager 2022 were homogenized, with each track painted a moody blue color, giving the impression of racing at the Atlantis Grand Prix, which could only be seen when fast-forwarding the gameplay beyond double speed.

For 2023, however, developer Frontier Developments has opted for a much more realistic rendering of each track, showcasing the green and pleasant land surrounding Silverstone and bringing the port of Monaco to life with a pop of color (we’d also expect tracks as). Bahrain International Circuit and Yas Marina surrounded by desert sands).

F1 Manager 2022 racing screens looked pretty boring

It’s a minor change to the game’s aesthetics, but it’s important considering how much time players will be spending fast-forwarding the races.

F1 Manager 2023 will be released on July 31st for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
