Smurfs Kart will be released in August for PlayStation and Xbox consoles

Smurfs Kart (or “Schtroumphs” Kart if you’re French) originally released for the Nintendo Switch in 2022 and will be expanding to various consoles later this year.

On August 22nd, Smurfs Kart will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, created by development studio Eden Games and published by French studio Microids. There are also plans to release it on Steam at some point, but a specific date has yet to be determined.

The racing title, which Justin Towell gave a “superior” in his Traxion.GG review, is similar to Mario Kart but has less to do with it. “It feels good, looks good, moves, well, gets a laugh or two, and is a cheaper alternative to Mario Kart, but offers essentially the same gameplay,” Justin said in his review.

The console version will have the same 12 tracks, the same 12 Smurfs, and the same offline modes to compete in… I mean “Smurf” alone or together. There will be support for up to four players in local split-screen multiplayer. However, there’s no mention of online racing, which wasn’t a feature on the Switch either.

No official price has been announced, but it’s currently available on the Nintendo Switch for $39.99.
