Jan Bell paves the way for his return to the top of the simulation gaming world after securing a distributor for his new studio’s forthcoming title, Straight4. In this case, Plaion takes over the distribution over the current platforms.

PLAION, the leading independent developer, publisher and distributor of entertainment products, is proud to announce a recent publishing agreement with Straight4 Studios. The new studio will be led by veteran racing sim developer Ian Bell, whose resume includes titles such as Need for Speed: Shift, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends, Shift 2: Unleashed, and the GTR and Project CARS franchises.

“The much-anticipated return of one of the most legendary racing simulation development teams has been greatly enhanced by our strategic partnership with PLAION. The entire team is excited to see what PLAION will bring to our game,” said Kevin Boland, Director of Development at Straight4.

The strategic partnership is focused on the development of an upcoming racing simulation title, which has yet to be announced. The development of this game has been bolstered by many of the key talents behind Project CARS creator, Slightly Mad Studios, who have now joined Straight4 Studios along with a team of other industry veterans.

“Our vision for this new game is a hardcore racing simulator with a commitment to provide the simulation and modding tools the community desires. PLAION immediately understood our ambitions and potential, and we firmly believe that this new partnership will play a crucial role in taking the racing simulation industry to a whole new level of realism and fun,” said Ian Bell, CEO of Straight4 Studios.

“We’re always looking for new partners to work with and bring something really special to our audience.
