Two of the tracks from the third wave of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, Merry Mountain and Peach Gardens, were revealed on Tuesday September 13th.
Two of the eight tracks that will be part of the third wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC for the Booster Course Pass were revealed during a Nintendo Direct stream on Tuesday (September 13).
This holiday season (sorry, nothing more specific than that) both Merry Mountain and Peach Gardens will join the roster of enhanced tracks for the popular Nintendo Switch racing title.
Merry Mountain will participate as a recurring venue of the Kamek Cup in the Mario Kart mobile game Mario Kart Tour.
The short course takes racers up and down a snow-capped mountain, complete with gifts on a train, a snow-capped peak surrounded by Christmas items, and of course what appears to be Santa’s sleigh in flight as you cruise back to the finish line .
Peach Gardens also returns from some previous titles that originally released as a track for the Special Cup in Mario Kart DS for the Nintendo DS. The venue was re-released for Mario Kart Wii and placed in the Retro Tracks section in the Lightning Cup.
This track is slightly longer and starts with the players on the stairs at the entrance to Peach’s Castle. From there, the racers will dash through the garden, avoiding slow-moving flower fields and of course, multiple chain chomps.
These are just two of the eight tracks planned to come in this third wave. Announced back in February, a total of 48 new tracks are coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in six separate waves.
Wave 1 was already released on March 18th, Wave 2 was released on August 4th and the sixth and final wave is scheduled to be released in December 2023. The entire Booster Course Pass will cost you around £22.49 / €24.99 / $24.99, but I mean you basically get the amount of tracks of another full game.
However, don’t forget that it’s included for those who have an active Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack membership. Are there any other classic tracks you’re hoping will be included in the next wave? Let us know in the comments!
