The Logitech McLaren G Challenge returns in 2022, offering $150,000 in cash and Logitech G prizes. The details are not all announced yet, but it seems that it will at least run on the PC platform Assetto Corsa Competizione and the Grand Finals are scheduled to take place on March 19, 2023.
Registration is free and the ACC competition runs through the SimRacing.GP community. Sim racers can compete for cash, Logitech G products and the grand prize of a VIP trip to the 2023 Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix. Last season, the Logitech McLaren G Challenge was run by both ACC and iRacing. So far we only know that ACC will be involved.
There will be six Grand Prize winners in total – four champions will be from each of the North America (NA), Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA), Latin America (LATAM) and Asia Pacific (APAC) regions. Two more will be selected through a sweepstakes. The VIP trip, a Lando Norris meet and greet and McLaren merchandise are all part of these grand prize packages.
There will be weekly prizes that can be awarded to anyone who races. All entrants will also be entered into a chance to win the grand prize sweepstakes. The prizes include Logitech G headsets and cameras. Finalists have a chance to win cash prizes, up to $10,000 per regional finalist winner, payouts up to 16th place at $250 and win the new Logitech G Pro Sim Wheel.
When the site went live earlier in the day on Wednesday, there was a posted schedule that said qualifiers would start on October 4th. There were also scheduled knockout races, but that schedule has since been removed. Looking around the site, many details are still unknown, removed or simply undisclosed.
According to the Logitech McLaren G Challenge Discord, all the details are ongoing and will be available “soon”. Considering things could kick off in two weeks, “soon” will hopefully come sooner rather than later. Again, we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
