Everything we know so far about Forza Motorsport

Here’s everything we know about Forza Motorsport by Turn 10 Studios’ upcoming 2023 release.

In 2023, we’re expected to finally see the release of the latest Forza Motorsport title. The first motorsport title since 2017’s Forza Motorsport 7, and the first Forza game in general since 2021’s Forza Horizon 5,

Originally announced as a Spring 2023 release, this originally vague date was updated in the recent Xbox & Bethesda Developer_Direct Showcase to be even more vague and now spans the full year 2023.

Of course, Forza is an Xbox product, so we won’t see it on PlayStation systems. It will be on Xbox and PC, however, and that’s all we know about the upcoming title so far.

WHAT COURSES WILL FORZA MOTORSPORT HAVE?

There will be 20 “environments” in Forza Motorsport, and five of those will be brand new to the title. Calling it an environment as opposed to a track or venue is a bit odd, but we know some of those announced include:

  • Kyalami Grand Prix circuit
  • Suzuka circuit
  • Laguna Seca (with a 1960s layout)
  • Maple Valley Racetrack
  • Circuit Hakone

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE KEY FEATURES FORZA MOTORSPORT WILL HAVE?

The new Forza Motorsport will overhaul the platform since its last release with Forza Motorsport 7. It will include things like damage improvements with specific damage and dirt build-up, dynamic times of day affecting traction on the track, tire wear, fuel management and real-time ray tracing on the track.

All of the dynamic racing features ensure that “no two laps are ever the same”, and there will be other cool effects, such as “animated track life, physically based lighting and volumetric fog effects, as well as a fully procedural cloud system that evolves organically” what everything leads to a more intense experience.

The title is said to feature an “incredible new online racing mode” as well as a “car-building-focused single-player career” mode.

WHAT SYSTEMS WILL FORZA MOTORSPORT RELEASE ON?

Post-launch, Forza Motorsport will be playable on Xbox Series X|S consoles and on PC via Game Pass.

WHEN WILL FORZA MOTORSPORT BE RELEASED?

As early as June 2022, it was said that Forza Motorsport would be released in spring 2023. Since then and recently this has been updated to just say that without further clarification it will be released in 2023.

This could mean it was pushed back to later in the year, but nothing else has been made official at this point.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
