New limited edition Kenworth W900 truck added to American Truck Simulator

American Truck Simulator has unveiled a special 100th Anniversary Edition of the Kenworth W900, as well as an overhaul of the standard truck.

SCS Software has unveiled a new content expansion for American Truck Simulator and a continuation of its collaboration with US truck manufacturer Kenworth. To celebrate Kenworth’s 100th anniversary, a special anniversary edition of its W900 truck was added to the simulation.

The standard Kenworth W900, sporting a sleek black and red retro-inspired livery, is a traditional cab truck that costs around $220,000 to buy in the real world.

Kenworth originally started out as the car and truck dealership Gerlinger Motors, founded by brothers George and Lewis Gerlinger. It soon moved into truck manufacturing, building the popular Gersix truck, leading to the company’s name change to Gersix Motor Company.

The business was sold in 1917 and bought by EK Worthington and Captain Frederick Kent, who renamed the business Kenworth in 1923 through a merger of their surnames. Expansion followed and the brand is still going strong today, having diversified into electric powered trucks in recent years.

The revamped W900 features three chassis sizes, separate fuel tanks, additional accessories and revised interior materials, bringing the model up to the game’s latest high graphical standards.
